Makati isn't very good. Malate / Ermita is much livelier. Just take a taxi to Remedios circle and there are about 100 bars within a 500m radius - suiting almost all tastes.

The Disco in the basement of the Peninsula Hotel is OK. There's another one called Giraffe or Zebra or something like that, which was pretty good a few years ago
