The dashboard lights at my 1999 Dodge Caravan, sometimes work, sometimes doesn't.. (3 lamps at the superior display are presenting the problem (left turn, abs, and alarm set).

The bulbs outside the vehicle, the abs system and alarm are working fine, the thing is that sometimes the lights go back on, then they go out again.

What can I do to fix this? where are the connections to these lights and how can I open the dashboard?

thanks!

My van just did the same thing. I took to my local dodge center,it didn't need any parts and was easy to fix. They charged me for the labor which was 103.00 which I think was very high.

The shop your using sounds like the problem to me,they should be able to diagnose and fix your problem if they knew what they were doing.Could be a vacuum leak, though. Start with the fuel filter, that will be the cheapest and easist fix. If that doesn't help it is most likely the the fuel pump. If I was at work I would ask the techs. If you want to email me your vin# I will look up the part #'s for you. I will ask the guys in the shop what they think it is, but it sounds like your fuel pump is going out. With gas prices the way they are have you been looking for the cheapest gas you can find? That is not always good, because cheap gas is just that, CHEAP GAS! It can cause a lot of problems for you because it has a lot of trash in it. sounds like your having fuel pump problems with it,there is also fuel pump relay on those that goes bad and does this also, you need to take it to another shop,4 times they should have been able to find any problem with it,if they had tested the pump the might have found it,this could also be a simple filter getting clogged up,but id try another shop, like i said 4 times they should have found it,good luck with it hope this helps. 1st off, without proper diagnostics you cannot get a proper repair, with that being said... 2nd, it sounds like you might have a couple of different problems either with your TPS( throttle position sensor) or maybe even with your fuel pump/filter. 3rd, my advice to you is to take it to a certified and trusted technician that you can trust, especially one that has worked for or is working for a chrysler dealer and has gone to several chrysler certified schools, and have them do the proper diagnostics to find out what is actually the problem.
