I have one rabbit left out of four which have been rehomed....I am keeping this rabbit, but i want to know if this is possible...I had decided to keep 2 of the four babies but i have noticed that the smaller of the 2 has started to loose the fur from his back.I have checked for lice of mites and cant see any crusty spots or redness. Is it possible that the other little one could be pulling his fur out...i have now rehomed the other one that was doing the bullying but i want ot know if this happens between rabbits......How can i besure that it is not mites as i have 2 other adults and a cat and children. Please help.....

i myself own 9 rabbits 4 of which are babies. i found when i let them out they would run after eachother & take a bite out of the one they were chasing pulling out a mouthfull of fur. so yes this does happen between rabbits.

i don't think it's mites...that's what happened to my rabbit but i didn't have any at the time. that rabbit died of some disease that none of our vets had seen before so i'd suggest taking the rabbit to the vet before it's too late...because my mom and i think that the loss of fur might have been a sign of illness. just take him in for a general check up and ask the vet about it.

Sometimes rabbits do it to themself because hey are itchy, check around the fur from mites and if you can't see anything pop it down the vets for some advise ;)

Good Luck

One of my dogs was pulling the hair off the other, I bought some "bitter lime" at the pet store this stopped the situation.

If they are both males they will fight all the time and obviously the smallest will loose. 2 fems or male and fem wont fight but dont keep 2 males together.

If you discover that it is not the brother doing it, it just may be mange, there are differnt kinds. If you are willing go to the vet.
