About 25% of couples get pg in the first month. 60% get pg within 6 months, 75% get pg within 9 months, and 80% get pg by one year. 90% get pg by 18months. The average each month is you have about a 20% chance in any given cycle to get pg.

Have your cycles returned since going off birth control? Have sex right before ovulation. Ovulation happens 14 days on average before your next period starts.

I am going thru the same thing. I have a million suggestions that everyone in the world have given me..
It can take a while. you can take the ovulation test or do the body temp,
I also just found out certain lubes have a spermicide in them, and that is isn't birth control, but it can and does kill sperm Check the label if you do use a lubricant. (ID lube is one that does)
Also, if you have a regular 28-30 day cycle you will ovulate between day 12-16 from the first day of your period. I have been told to have sex on day 12, 14 and 16. that is the best. I was also told that you can have too much sex......
Another suggestion my Dr gave was to elevate after sex and to stay that way for 15-30 minutes. This is actually a great source of entertainment!

Good Luck!!!!!!!

Glad to hear you've been off the pill for several months. I got pregnant very quickly after stopping the pill and then miscarried, and it was very likely that I hadn't been off long enough to get back to normal cycles.

One suggestion that worked for me is to try taking guaifenisen before "baby-making". I took a regular dose about two hours before the act. It's the active ingredient in many over-the-counter cough medications. Don't buy just any cough syrup, though, look for one with guaifenisen as opposed to dextromethorphan. There are generics that work just as well as any name brand.

Guaifenisen's purpose is to loosen bronchial mucus, but it seems to have the same effect on cervical mucus. Cervical mucus blocks sperm and, from what I understand, it only loosens up right around ovulation. If it doesn't thin out enough, it could prevent you from getting pregnant. Guaifenisen has the benefit of being inexpensive, commonly available, and not dangerous to take during pregnancy (my OB had it on the list of "acceptable-during-pregnancy" medications).

Now, if there are other underlying problems (such as scarring, failure to ovulate, low sperm counts, etc) then it can't work miracles. But if you are otherwise healthy, it may speed the process up by a few months. And worst case, it could help a winter cold or cough!

Finally, keep in mind that it can take a normal, healthy, fertile couple up to a year to conceive. Even if your timing is perfect, you still only have something like a one in four chance of conceiving. Try to be patient and don't stress over it. I can't even count how many people have told me that they had the experience of not being able to conceive until they gave up and quit trying... and then immediately got pregnant. Good luck to you and happy baby-making!

Well one good thing is that you and your husband have already conceived once and this makes it easier for you to conceive again. I have heard that sometimes our bodies need time to readjust after taking the pill. With all that said the best advice i can give you is that since every woman’s menstrual cycle varies the best way to find out when you are ovulating is by researching the following web-sites. They are packed with useful information and provide cool color coded charts that are easy to use, and tailored to your biorhythm. Good Luck
