I have a 5 1/2 month old baby girl. I don't cosleep every night, but I do tend to fall asleep every now and then while nursing. It's usally the last half of the night. She goes to bed around 7:00/7:30 and wakes back up somewhere around 12:00 to 2:30am. She still sleeps in her bassinet next to my bed. I do notice sometimes when I do nurse her and try putting her in the bassinet she wakes up and cries. I rock the bassinet, sing, and she'll fall back to sleep. (Sometimes she'll just cry). I know them sleeping alone is a transition itself when you tend to cosleep. Do you think it's to early to start putting her in the crib? How old was your baby when you did this? Last, but not least any suggestions on how to go about doing it?

Her bassinet weight limit is 15 pounds. She sits up with support, yes, but she can't do it on her own. She is crawling and rolling around. But not capable of pulling herself up quite yet. She can try sitting up, but falls after a minute or less.

my son is 7 weeks old. He is still in the bassinet in our room but I'm putting him in his crib next week.

I was told to sleep in his room on the floor for a few nights so that he can still hear me in there with him while he gets used to a new room. We also bought a baby monitor so I wouldn't worry about being able to hear him cry at night.

At 5 1/2 months old you may have to check the weight limit on the bassinet, ours only goes up to 20 lbs and *some* babies get to big for them quick.

She's almost 6 months which means she's probably starting to sit up on her own, right? The bassinet isn't safe for her anymore. We co-slepted with our daughter and putting her in her own room in a crib really wasn't much of a struggle. I started putting her in her crib for naps and she eventually during her naps would fall asleep without a fuss. She fusses at night before she finally falls asleep and sleeps through the night. That's normal, you just have to sooth them then let them cry it out for just a couple minutes and I would make the time that I let her cry it out go a little longer each time, but I never let it go passed 5 minutes unless they were little wimpers which meant she was getting tired and was putting herself to sleep. You just have to find what method works best for you.
And for future reference you can put a baby in the crib from day one. It just depends on what the parent is comfortable with.

she should already be in her crib. the basinet is only intended for the first few months (0-3). I can understand falling asleep while nursing but you have to break that habit. you will regret it later if you do not. as far as suggestions, you just put her in her crib. she will probably cry and you may loose sleep for a few days but if you take care of this now life will be easier in the future....trust me. nip it in the bud NOW.

I even have co-slept with my final 4 toddlers till they have been in a position to roll over. I also have a mattress that sits approximately 3 a million/2 ft off the floor so i replaced into continuously worried they might roll off (even however they sleep in the midsection.) My dh additionally prefers they be out via time. He helps me co-drowsing simply by fact it does make the night nursing much less annoying. I homeschool so i choose for my sleep at night. once I circulate the youngsters out they bypass into the %n play it incredibly is in our room and stay there till approximately 10-11 mod. i visit night nurse till approximately that age and then I usually improve bored with it. it incredibly is likewise bearing directly to the time my previous infant has moved right into a huge mattress and we are able to then start up putting new infant in the crib. i do no longer remorseful approximately it in any respect. so a great way as figuring out whilst to bypass infant, i think of it incredibly is definitely as much as you and pa. I dad must be on board or it would not artwork besides. you may get the area motor vehicle sleepers and nevertheless have infant close to you. that provides you and dh "privateness" (for a on a similar time as besides) plus you have infant close to you. i might use it determination in the event that they in high quality condition my mattress. back, it sits too extreme. have fun with that infant.
