Is it good to know the outcome of a situation before we get into it? or do we just expect the unexpected? What would you do? and why?

We need to plan, research and employ wisdom with every decision weighing the consequences of our actions and then be prepared to be flexible to accommodate the unexpected. The unexpected is not always a bad thing...it could be better with increase greater than you anticipated.

If I understand your question, it refers to 'expecting' a certain outcome. In practical terms, no one can 'know' the outcome of a situation. Hopefully, I'm understanding your question correctly.

If we don't have a outcome in mind then experience becomes valueless. It's from experience that we can expect certain things to happen and when it varies from past experience, we can adapt those strategies to fit the different situation. From that we gain yet another useful experience that may more easily fit an even more different variation of situational outcomes.

Further if those expectations of outcome are more or less correct (no alterations or adaptations required), our response can be more efficient due to previous knowledge and practice.

So I guess the answer to your question is that it is good to "know" the outcome of a situation before we get into it but expect the unexpected. I would plan for a certain outcome and get the best result I could.

Peace

It's often not possible to know an outcome before we get involved. If it were possible to know the outcome all the time, there would be no taking chances because there would be no chances to take and thus a lot of things that have occured by "accident" wouldn't.

For example, sitcky notes came about by accident...the developers were trying to improve adhesive for tape and got a light adhesive (not appropriate for tape but look what happened).

Coca-cola was supposedly an accident...it was supposed to be a tonic to make you feel good. If the inventor had known ahead of time it wouldn't work for that purpose, there's little reason to believe he'd have switched gears and decided to try to make just a good tasting drink.

Expecting the unexpected is the wisest way to go, imo. We don't know what will happen, but can usually safely assume SOMEthing will.

The closest you can get to a good outcome is to be aware of the worst-case scenario, only then will you be prepared to prevent it from happening. OBJECTIVITY RULES

Better to know first the details so we could plan strategies to tackle the situation at hand.

I expect GREAT things and thats what happens. Thoughts become action, thoughts become my life. And with everyone, what you think becomes the patterns in our lives.
