Maybe , just maybe , it is a war. Not giving out information to aide the enemy usually is standard practice. If indeed the helicopter was shot down, it will be revised in a few days like it always is.

Why, "Mohammed", are you assuming the Taliban are telling the truth? Why wouldn't they claim credit for it, even if they had nothing to do with it? The U.S. military is generally pretty straightforward about how many die, how they die, etc. How about them Taliban?

I guess I can't even fathom a mindset that values Taliban truthfulness over the U.S. military's.
