i have connection to the net through telephone ....i want my pc act as web server ... i mean some one can html pages laying on my pc .... so how do i do this ? suppose i have installed apache web sever

Unless you have a hardwired IP address you can't do it. The DHCP addresses your ISP gives you are invisible to the Internet

Apache would be the best way to go but can get a little complicated to someone starting out with this. Use the url below for some good tutorials on this.

You will need to install IIS (Internet Information Service) on your PC then you can host any website locally and when you are connected to the internet, you can browse your locally hosted site from anywhere in the world!
