If you consider for a second the way 'you' feel when you are alone..out of of your normal environment..in some unfamiliar surrounding..that is contrary to 'your' cultural norms.....how did 'you' feel?
'That' feeling is universal to all humanity..it is instinctual.. one of our few remaining instincts.
Immigrating under ANY circumstance has to be one of the most challenging undertakings an individual could attempt in life.
Assimilating an immigrant is also challenging...it's no easy thing to put aside the ideas we each assume are qualifications.
Even Integrating is problematical, ..doing that causes our peers insecurity.
Perhaps,...maybe,... when all is considered in the face of prejudice and survivability, living as an immigrant in a foreign environment appears to be the viable option...

In America it's the same...or Africa,.. or India,.. it do sent matter which 'race' they /we /you are.. . ... .. they /we /us/ you need each other to exist, and we all are drawn toward affirmation.
That's not what you want to hear, tho, is it?

It must be cosmetic,..the mask we wear when we exercise predudice against another. We sure wouldnt want to be treated like we treat them , if the situation were reversed...
We tell our selves if we WERE to find our self in a foreign culture, it's people would be tollerent and suportive and welcomeing and generous and careing and conseintious and sympathetic and friendly and gragarious and recieving and tollerent and .....
But the truth is... 'they' actually are much like 'we' are...afraid, doubtful, hesitant, judgmental, resentful, critical, impatient, rude, greedy, stingy, ruthless, mean, unforgiveing, dirty, ignorant, illiterate, stupid, lazy, manipulative, talentless, filthy, lyeing, cheeting, theaveing, non believeing, hoarding waistful, useless bastards, convicts, rapests, ....

Because birds of a feather flock together. You are drawn to people like yourself. If I'm in another part of the country and I hear a North Eastern accent, even if they're a Geordie, I feel like bonding with them rather with a southerner. I try not to look at a person's skin tone, I listen for the accent. If I hear an English accent then that person is English; ditto for the other countries in our Kingdom. If I hear a Mackem accent then that person is one of my people, no matter how light or dark their skin (we're all brown in my opinion by the way - I'm beige).

I totally agree with you! But I cant understand why ethnic minorities complain, they've got it good in our country. They are they ones getting their own way.
In Britain we have a whole set of rules and customs about different parts of our lives. Due to the socially constructed Political Correctness, we attempt not to say or do anything that will cause offence in order to try and be a tolerant and accepting nation.
When we are abroad we try to have some respect for other people’s customs. So we expect those who come here as visitors or residents equally to respect our traditions and way of life. However, the majority of them do not. They flaunt, preach and force their belief systems and traditions whilst continuing to speak in their native language without making any attempts to learn ours. It is not expected that they abandon their customs etc, but it is with respect that we would want them to make an effort to honour our homeland by making an effort to integrate with us. Everyone but the British is ‘protected’ under a mask of Political Correctness. British people are insulted without consequence, and are restricted from practising their religion. Yet we are drowned in a diversity of cultures, religions and beliefs, and some can seem to be offensive and alien to us. British people’s experience of these in their own communities leads them to be suspicious of the un-known, antagonistic; and a few to be racist. Diversity does not work under these conditions. This is why I agreed with a High Court ruling to say no to a young woman’s demands to flout her school’s rules by insisting on wearing a hijab. We need a set of rules to be put into place that will enable Britain to hold on to its identity and traditions. As David Blunkett professed: ‘It is the acceptance of the rules that makes any society function. It holds people together and provides the glue for social cohesion. Anything goes leads to everything going. And what will go is our sense of belonging, our identity and our willingness to whole-heartedly welcome difference and diversity.’

After your tiny country conquered one 4th of the world, you can now see the chickens coming home to roost.

And also, will the Brits mix with them if they want to mix? Or will you call them bloody pakis and miserable wogs and other funny names? Or just be politely distant to them. Will the Brits make friends with them?

Plus they are there for financial reasons and economic/educational opportunities primarily. Just like the Brits were in their country for a variety of practical reasons.

They are surely not in the UK to imbibe your warm and friendly culture.

Plus do remember - they are **here** because you were ***there***. You were the ones who went and conquered India and Africa and all these countries with very different cultures. Did you assimilate into their cutures when you went to live there? Or did you treat them as subhumans and their cultures as unworthy?

Did those Brits who lived in Burma accept Biddhism and learn the local language? Even a word? Nah.

And:

Brits living abroad now as a rule:

1) Have virtually not respect for local cultures or languages ( except colonial guilt, maybe). They just do not learn them. They generally do not know local singers, local writers and cannot converse even in the most rudimentary way in the local langauges.

2) Express only sexual interest in women and culinary interest in food but make virtually zero effort to mingle with people or learn about their way of life. They probably think these are inferior ( in the back of their minds while talking virulently against racism) How about a Brit who learns a foreign language- is it a museum oddity or is it as rare as a four leaf clover?

And a mirror-like karma has boomeranged back on you. Now you have people coming to your country that behave exactly like your ancestors behaved in other lands.

Did the British settlers in S. Africa assimilate into the Zulu culture or the Xosa culture?

So, others are now doing it to you.

Have you heard about "what goes around comes around?"

The evil tension in the back of the present con dem government and previous labour government are in charge for the flag time table. various think of tanks pull the strings of con dem. One is the royal institute of international affairs. the different employer which maximum politicians belong which reflects the actual socialist direction this u . s . is treasonously being instructed in is the fabian society which beleive in making lots of slow small assaults on british society with a view to create a extensive substitute sooner or later to a socialist one international government. They take their concepts often from the frankfurt college. One technique is to flood britain with mass uncontrollable immigration to break the british identity. yet another technique is thru faculties, faculties, workplaces to tell human beings to no longer draw % up flags or it night offend somebody. To attack christian gala's. it relatively is all being achieved via treasonous marxists like Cameron and Clegg and their abode of Rothschild rulers. Immigrants have by no potential ever been indignant via the union jack. hold close it extreme and continuously have fun christian gala's. human beings have been fooled via the criminals. by no potential vote con dem or lab ever back. particularly vote uk independance social gathering.

A very good question - It could be they are trying to take over from us by building so many communities, taking over local shops etc. that they will eventually be recognised as the majority group. They could also feel safer and more secure by having their own communities. I don't really know the answer, I suppose the only way we will find out is to ask them.

Because people tend to be scared of what they do not know or used to and also because it is much easier to stick to your own kind. There are a lot of ignorant people in this world and people are scared of abuse.
