Not sure about your question. I read it as.. "You are nice looking,but denise?" Does it mean he had something to say besides your looks.. It sounds to me that all he has is an opinion.. Your nice looking. and he had something else to say.. Take it as a complement..

It sounds like he is knocking you back, as in;
You are nice looking (refering to your friend), but Denise? = Did he pull a face when your friend asked?
He wants a date with your friend and not you. Sorry. You must not be his type. Look for something better sweety.
Or, you could always ask him yourself, be mature and direct....only then will you get a true answer from him.

just thought wud help, wud just laugh it off, plenty of blokes out there, not all looking for a brain box, there are more important qualitys in a lady LOL, im sure a really nice lady

He may think that you are to confusing for him, looks doesn't always mean everything, more of it is how easy you are to get along with or how easy it is to understand you, for me it is not knowing this it is living it
