We are a young couple looking to travel to Croatia in August. We want to stay near to a sandy beach with restauraunts and a few bars near by.

I went to Croatia just under 2 years ago. Stayed in a resort called Makarska (think thats how you spell it). There was a lovely beach there with lots of bars and restaurants. The atmosphere was brilliant. Went on a day cruise to a couple of the islands from there and it was magical.
You can't go wrong in Croatia everywhere you look the scenery is absolutely breathtaking and the locals are really friendly.
