Dude, it says that Morzan is Eragon's father, i think if brom is eragon's father it will come out in the next or final book, if there is going to be one.

From what I got from the book, I don't think so. Murtagh took the sword from Eragon because it was his inheritence from his father - and the inheritence goes to the oldest son, not the youngest. Since the series is the Inheritence trilogy, I assume them to be full brothers, not half-brothers. I think Brom was just a really good guy, a true Rider, who did what he knew he had to do, and he didn't have to be Eragon's father to save him.

It would be cool if he were his father, but sadly he's not. Morzan his his real father and Brom just saved Eragon because it was time for him to die and to let Eragon defeat Galbatorix.
