Okay, I heard that Obama is going to run for president and also Hillary Clinton. They are both democrats, so my question is if more than one person is seeking presidential election within the same party, who determines the person to run? Please dont say "the Democratic party"...SPECIFICALLY who? is it the democrats in the house of representatives...who exactly?

During the primary elections, registered democrats vote for the candidate they want to represent their party in the general election. Depending on the state, either the entire lot of delegates from the state or given to the winner or the proportion of the vote that a candidate receives is reflected in the delegates he/she receives. During the summer before the fall election, the parties (democrat & republican) have conventions where the delegates elect the nominee of the party.

That is what the primary elections are for. Each candidate runs for their respective party and on primary day, we decide which one of them gets to run for President. You have to be registered with a party in order to vote in this election. A Republican cn not vote in a Democratic primary and vice versa.
