My husband was promoted a few weeks ago from a foreman to a superintedent at an asphalt plant. The hours changes dramatically...he works 7 days a week for 12 hours a day. He is also on salary. The job is twice as much work as his previous. While his employer gave him the new title no one has said anything about a raise. He is really frustrated with this, but doesn't want to rock the boat yet. I feel he has been taken advantage of and so does he. How should he bring this up with his boss? Should he ask for a certain amount or let them set his new salary?

The mention of the raise should have been brought up at the time of the "promotion". It sounds like he just got a better title, more work to do and the same pay. "A pat on the back, without any extra money".
