i have a dime that the date reads the year 200.the last number of that year had not been struck hard enough from the mint.you cant tell it had been struck with the naked eye.i still cant tell if the last number is a 0 or a 2 and this is looking very very hard threw a magnifying glass.i just like to know if its worth more then just a dime sense it is a mis strike.if it is, its for sale.

Ask a coin specialist. He will be able to tell if it is worth anything or not.

This is not uncommon. There may have been excessive grease on the die at that point, so it kind of blocked the strike. Someone also could have done something to the coin, after it left the mint. It actually has little collector value, since it is quite common. See a coin dealer and he should agree with me. When large areas are not struck up, then you have a coin with more value to it.

my son is a coin collector he was told that the coins that are worth something are ones that look like they haven't been handled.

I think when they make "mistakes" like this it does make the coin valuable.
