I hold a bachelors and masters degree, and I say unless you are going into a preprofessional field like prelaw, pre pharmacy, premed, or a very stable degree program such as education, nursing, social work, or something in the STEM area (science, technology, engineering, and math), you will be stuck with hella loans to pay back and probably wont be able to find a job that pays much more than your pre-degree job.

In the US, "University" and "College" are used interchangebly.

I found university neither a waste of time nor of money. If you do, then look to yourself, not others.

As for money, the average university graduate will make 60% more per year than the average high school graduate who is the same age. Does that sound like a waste of money?

could be yes and could be no. it depends on how u want ur future to be. if ur skilled to do something like what other opinions said (eg. bill gates, albert e. etc), then u dont need to go to university. if u belong to an influential parents (eg. ur parents are well-known; have plenty of connections in business, etc.), u will land a good job with their "back-ups".
*i graduated in a university (& holding a degree) but i did not land a job that relates to my degree. & i could not say it was a waste of time & money since w/o having graduated from a university, i could not also get the opportunity to have a job as it is a prerequisite. hence, my university diploma helped a lot and make me a bit successful.

Yes and no..think of the richest man on Earth, Bill Gates, he dropped out of college..Albert Einstein was not a shining pupil ether. If you are thinking of making a lot of money there are many jobs one can score that pay equal salary, if not more to jobs which require a College education, but you have to have luck, connections and will to work, many try and few make it. From a logical and realistic point of view a College education is worth it.
