Hinske will not be traded by the Sox because of his versitility. He will no doubt be a bench player/pinch hitter. He can play both corner outfield spots, as well as both corner infield spots. I can see him getting 150-200 at-bats this year. Lowell will need a break at third and is no spring chicken, so Youk will move over and Hinske can play a little first. He's also the 5th outfielder, but JD will probably have injury issues, Crisp is coming off an injury plagued year, and Manny's knee...well that one is probably fake.

Anyway, he's a decent player who should see some time, and he's also good enough to be used in a trade at the deadline should the need arrive.

You mean he's still around?

Probably less of a role than he had last year. And as the season goes on, he'll earn less and less playing time, except if there is an injury at first, third or the corner outfield.

That's his history. And for lenny43, he didn't het that much attention in Toronto. What attention he did get, after his rookie season, was pretty much negative.

As I said, that's his history.

I'd be surprised if he was anything other than a bench player.

He's an average player at best, and really didn't deserve the attention he got in Toronto, despite his one good year. That being said, he has the skills to help a team as a role player. Anything else and you're in trouble.

Also, he doesn't really have a position that he stands out at. He can play third, first and the outfield, but is average, at best, at all of them.

He is gonna be the left handed pinch hitter off of the bench and the backup first baseman in-case anything happens to Youkilis
