Using sniffer dogs or mine detectors are fine if you are actually in control of the territories you want to check, but in a war zone, walking around with a dog on lead is asking to be shot.

They do use sniffer dogs. Why don't they use lots - availability and expense. Not every dog makes a good sniffer and it is expensive to train the dog and the handler.

Even if dogs did find explosives the military can't do anything about it. Because ignorant people like Paul B and the bleeding heart liberals don't want us to infringe on their civil rights. They would rather watch our solders get killed and then say its Bush's fault.

Watch the news and the people walking around with rifles and rocket launchers. They aren't going rabbit hunting. If they do have a hunting license or a military ID let them keep the weapon. Otherwise take it away from them.

If the liberals want to allow them to walk around with weapons over there. Why don't I have the right to bare arms here and carry my pistol? I DO HAVE A HUNTING LICENSE AND A MILITARY ID. But, if I walk down the street with a pistol in holster the police would arrest me and the liberals would be screaming take everyone guns away.

Because the vast majority of attacks happen through vehicles packed with them being driven by suicide bombers.
Added to that the amount of ordnance in the environment, sniffer dogs are great in clean environments but its too distracting for them.

Bush is not smart enough to resort to this!

Either that or all of the sniffer dogs are refusing to go to Iraq!
