Even though I thought the interview went pretty well. How and when should I contact the company letting them know I am still very interested without calling them too much and too often.

Hi! I work in Human Resources and am involved with all of the recruiting that happens in our company. First of all, I am sorry to hear that you didn't get the job and I hope that you can turn this into a positive situation by telling yourself that you did not get the job for a reason.. there is always a reason. For example, maybe you just were not the correct fit for the company and maybe you thought the job interview went well, but management did NOT. Also, do NOT take it personal!!! I know that its hard not to, and I have definitely been there myself, but try to stay positive. It is much easier to find a job when you stay positive.

I agree with the other answer presented, if the position has been filled- there is NO reason to contact the company. Most companies will keep resumes on file for 1-2 years and if something else opens up within the company they will either contact you or you should take the initiative to contact them, if interested. This means that you will probably want to move on and keep applying to other positions, you will find the right fit sooner or later. I also agree with a Thank you note, or you could even contact the interviewer(s) and ask for feedback. The worst thing that they can do is say that cannot give you any information, but I think it is noble to ask for feedback to try and improve yourself.

Best of luck to you!

If the job opening is filled, I'm not sure why you want to contact them again. If you want them to keep your resume on file in case there is a new opening, then write whoever you interviewed with, a thank you note, thanking them for their time and for considering you for the job. Ask them to please keep you in mind in the future.

And then, move on and start looking for something else.
