If you are speaking specifically of a measurable, small length of time, then microsecond, nanosecond, or "fraction of a nanosecond" would describe it.
I sometimes use the German word "Augenblick", which means
"the blink of an eye".
If you want to be more metaphorical, you could use "flash" , "heartbeat" ,or "before you can say Jack Robinson".
Example:
If you need me, just call and I will be there in a heartbeat.
I'll be done in a flash.
Don't worry. I'll have dinner on the table before you can say Jack Robinson.

well if you want to get technical which i dont suppose anyone does! the shortest interval of time is reckoned to be the Planck time, or approximately 5.3 x 10^-44 seconds.
the smallest time ever measured time (so far) is around 1 attosecond (1 X 10^-18 seconds).
a split instant is good too tho.

I would say "Flash" would be most appropriate. In a Flash, as we say.
