Question

Reset my computer back to the start without any files etc...

My computer is full of viruses and now its so bad it takes roughly 5-20 minutes to start up I scanned the computer with AVG and results where 3,000 infected files.

So I have decided to re-start it to the begining!

Just delete every file that AVG says is bad. Once that's done, see where you're at. I recommend you run a few more programs:

1) Spybot Search & Destroy:

This will clean any spyware that AVG will miss

2) AdAware SE
http://lavasoftusa.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php
Very powerful, will clean up all adware

3) SuperCleaner
http://southbaypc.com/SuperCleaner/
This will remove any useless files from your system, freeing up a lot of space.

If you still want to format...
Do you have a Windows disk with the code? Just stick it and run, select a fresh install.

You need to re-install windows, put your disk in and reboot your computer and windows will start to install, when it asks you to format the hard drive say yes

Your computer should have come with software to do this.

Also, there is a program you can purchase called Ghost. It's published by Symantec.
