Oily skin can only mean one thing - Overwashing! Try not to overwash the skin with soap, cleansers, and and other anti-bacterial products all the time.

Why: When skin dries out, glands secrete extra oil, thus causing the glazed skin when you wake up and even attributes to extra pimples.

What to do: Try to use simple things like soap (Preferably Dial and Dove) and spash with hot, then cold water. This will balance out the skin, wash away any excess oil, and shrink pores.

*Remember, an "unwashed" face is NOT the reason for acne or any other skin condition. Overwashing and overusing products is the most common problem

Hope that helps out!

First, drink lots of water. Eat a balanced diet. You will be surprised at what that alone does for your skin.

Use a cleanser that does not foam up. Try Cetaphil or something gentle like that. After you wash your face, use a toner made of half apple cider vinegar and half water. Just put it on a cotton ball and wipe your face. This will remove any traces of the soap from the face wash. Finally, use a light moisturizer.

Hello,
It sounds like you have sensitive skin. All skin types need natural oil to sustain the skin. If you feel that there is excessive oil on your skin's surface you may be washing your face with harsh cleansers. Once these cleansers take ALL skin oil off your face your skin is forced to produce more natural oil, etc.. its a cycle.
Try to stay away from harsh soaps and cleaners for your face. Use moisturizer on your face that is made for sensitive or combination skin. We all experience some sort of dryness on our face after a wash. The key is to not over clean and moisturize when necessary.

it sounds like you may be using a cleanser that is too harsh for your skin, I had this problem with Clean and Clear face washes. Try a face wash made for sensitive or combination skin. One that I like is Purpose Gentle Cleansing Bar (it comes in liquid too if you don't like bar soap) Also Cetaphil is good (NOT the oily skin formula though, just regular Cetaphil). Make sure you are not washing too often and use a good moisturizer afterwards.

Randi, wow what a name!! So randy, it seems that you have a problem that's with everybody in summer. To me, there is something really strange about your face. Maybe you should see a skin-care center and see if you can somehow change the type of your skin. Although I don't know if that's possible or not. However, if you want my suggestion then always after taking a nice bath or after washing your face with soap, just rub some talcum powder on your face so that it does not get oily soon. I think you sweat a lot.
Well, I don't know. Good luck.

Well it depends on what you are using to wash it. Soap strips the skin of natural oils causing it to produce more. make sure you are using a gentle cleanser and exfoliating (some cleansers come with an exfoliate in them). Use a oil free moisturizer your skin needs hydration or it will produce more oil.

I have same skin. Its sensitive! I find that Dermalogica has a line for sensitive skin. Its the ONLY thing that has made me feel like the oils were gone from my face, but my skin still feels moist and dewy. I started out with a sample kit that lasted 1 month. See if you can find it in your area, its worth paying a little more for that than going to walgreens!
