I have NVIDIA G-Force 6200 graphics card and Windows XP Media Centre Edition. Is it safe to update drivers. Will this improve the graphics?

It fixes problems, might give the card a bit of new properties interface, it will be good for you to update when you want to play a game and it just doesn't play. It will open up and installation wizard go through the installation process and ask you to restart. NOTE:If your screen is really strange like discoloured or the resolution is not what it used to be and there are errors. Go into Control Panel>Add/Remove programs and look up the update by date and uninstall it or just go into Control Panel>Appearance and Themes>Resolution>Advanced>Your Video Card> Roll Back. Rolling Back your card will put it back to its original state like when you first got your computer. I recommend you use Microsoft's Windows Update not Microsoft Update to find your driver for that card. It will give you a list of updates and which card is allowed to use that update. Or go to your manufacturers website. Happy Computing. Go to Windows Update @ http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/catalog/en/default.asp or nVidia @ http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

Usually only compatibility issues. Read the "release" notes on the drivers to see what it will "fix". And get the drivers from the chipset maker themselves. www.ati.com or nvidia.com.
