My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant since November 2006. My last period was Jan 18. I've had terrible headaches for about 3 weeks so I decided to go to the doctor last night (Feb 17). Before she gave me any prescriptions, she did a pregnancy test just to make sure. Well after about 10 minutes she came back in and told me there was a slight positive line. Needless to say, I could not get any medicine to help my headache. She told me to take a home test the next morning because it may be a stronger positive. As we were leaving the Dr. office, all of the nurses came out to congratulate me. Well after a sleepless night for me and my husband, I took the test. After about a minute or so I looked and it said negative. I was pretty disappointed and tossed it in the trash. But like so many times before, I got it out of the trash a couple minutes later and there was a VERY slight line. Also, I have been cramping a little, not much. Can I be pregnant or am I just wanting it to much?

Just an update...I found out this evening that I am pregnant! They think I'm only about 2 weeks, but it's a sure thing! Thanks to all of you for your help. This will be an exciting journey!

If there was a line there you are pregnant (even if it was slight). The test will only react to the pregnancy hormone so you obviously have that in your urine but just in small doses.

Hiya,
when i got pregnant i did a test at about 4 weeks and it was really really faint. I then did another test at eight weeks and it was a definite line. So it probably is likely u r pregnant, maybe u will just have too wait a few weeks to do another test. Hope u get the result u wanted gl!

IF you are pregnant, you're not very far along. You need to wait a few days, take a test first thing in the morning, & wait 3-5 mins for the results to show up. If the line is very faint & shows up after 10 mins, it might not be accurate.

With my boys the test lines were very dark and showed right away, but with my girl the line was very faint with every test I took. Don't ask me why, but thats the way it was. I would suggest you have blood work done to be really sure. Good luck!!

even a slight line is a positive. Have your doctor run a blood test for you in a couple of days to be sure.

IF THE DR OFFICE TEST CAME UP +, WHY DID THEY SEND YOU HOME TO TAKE ANOTHER TEST?? THEIRS ARE MORE SENSITIVE. BUT, NO MATTER HOW FAINT IT IS, YOU ARE PREGNANT.
