Not at all. The FA cup has been devalued by the TV money now generated. Getting into and staying in the Premiership or getting into the Champions League is now the priority. Winning the cup does not bring in the kind of cash needed to compete at the top level. We have Sky TV and the G14 to thank for that.

I think the money in the Premiership has devalued it more. Next season the club finishing bottom is going to get 30 million quid ! English football has been this financial business centre for years now when it comes to the Premiership and the huge rewards on offer by finishing in the top four. It's a shame how finishing fourth with no trophy to show for it takes precedence over winning the FA cup.

Still the teams outside of the Prem are still loving it judging by the support Norwich, Ipswich etc ...... had at their cup matches. Plymouth was packed out as well - so it's not all doom and gloom for the FA cup.

I don't think it's to do with foreign managers it's to do with how many competitions a teams involved in. A few years ago Fergie was under fire for undermining he cup when he opted for the world championships instead, eh he's scottish.
I think the forth CL place should be given to the winner then it would put an incentive on it, if someone is pushing for the Cl final and 1st place in the league then the cup , sadly comes a sad third in priorities.

No. The FA Cup is too big and too old for that! The fact is if a big side puts out less experienceed team and they win, fairs fair. If they lose, then a smaller club has the chance of the trophy. Look at the Carling Cup. in one corner, you have a team that has bought its way to success and has millions of pounds of bought talent, Chelsea. In the other Arsenal, a team of young kids, whose combined cost is less thsn that of one of Chelsea's big players. Teams get told they are disrespecting a competition. But Arsenal's 2nd-3rd team have the chance to win a trophy. (Chelsea will win easily but Wenger is sticking to his guns).

I see where you are coming from. But I don't think so. Many still consider the FA Cup as one of the most important and most coveted trophies.
