Interesting ?
Isnt it a kick in the balls of all the fathers, husbands, boyfriends, even sons, brothers by daughters, wives, girlfriends, mothers, sisters?Atleast this was the symbol portrayed by feminists and is shown in movies and serials and the whole media.
How they laugh as the patriarch doubles up in pain and goes down great fun and rejoicing in victory ehhh???
congratulations to all females you have won.
Its time for the next round and for a taste of your own medicine.
Hatred only spawns more hatred and you not only planted the seeds of liberation of women but also the seeds of hatred in the male.
Sexual weakness can only go so far then let the second round begin.

Wow! The hostility is absolutely sizzling out of my computer as I read your question. Apparently you've either got relatives who are "feminist", or a feminist girlfriend just dumped you. Either way, you've got anger issues pal.

But to answer your question, if feminism and female empowerment are taken to the extreme, then your assessment is absolutely right.

The problem is, like so many other "movements" I could name, the movement for equality for women has become distorted out of all proportion into something it was never meant to be. The progenitor's of women's right only wanted equality - not superiority. But over the years the movement's been hijacked by a very small group of very rabid women.

Trust me, VERY few women actually subscribed to the more extreme elements of today's feminist movement. All we want to be treated like equals and with respect. (which the tone of your question does not, by the way) And we still want men to behave like men - just gentlemen. :)

I still like it when men hold the door open for me. I think it's sweet. And I've never had any compulsion to join the army just to prove I'm as brawny as a man.

So take a deep breath and go find yourself some real women. They are out there!

Yes, it is a rejection of patriarchy; that is, a society run by men, and FOR men. And, I might add, by CERTAIN men for these same kinds of men. So, non-white men have been brutalized around the world by imperialistic Euro-American men. And what of the treatment of homosexual men or others that don't conform to hegemonic ideals of 'masculinity'? As was pointed out, many men have also benefited from the feminist movement (which is not perfect, nothing is!), along with the civil rights and gay rights movements.

The seeds to any answer to your question are rooted right in your own comments. You seethe with hatred and violence, and I detect the hint of a threat here.

Mmmm, I wonder why this type of attitude among men is undergoing such a challenge in our society, by both women and men I might add? I wonder why you and other men like you feel threatened, and feel the need to express your anger through threats of mistreatment?

real answers and real emotions, those have to be constructed out of? some thing that touches us? I don't like the way feminism is at this point either, but it seems like you are grouping all feminine women in the same group and I don't think we are. I think that lots of times what is meant as a good can be twisted around into a bad thing, I think that we have done just what you say, I would just wonder what round two would be and why we have to fight over it?

I think you have the idea of feminism a little wrong. Yes, there are radical feminists who just flat out hate men...but I'm not one of them. Hell, I LOVE men!!!! I believe in equality, but I also believe that there are certain jobs out there that MOST women cannot do because of physical inequalities (some women are strong enough).

The most important reason for me as to why women should be educated and looked on as more than housewives (homemaking is a respectable choice btw, as long as it's what the woman chooses for herself and she enjoys it) is for the chance to better themselves as people.Being able to seek just about any job that I want is a good thing for me, because had I not educated myself, and I ended up in a bad relationship, I could get up and leave and still take care of myself. That is the most important thing for me.

Yes it is a rejection of patriarchy because so far that has made this world into a fine mess. It is not the people themselves but the principles that guide them and oppress others.

Patriarchy, as with every oppressive system, is often accepted and
maintained from both sides, so initiatives and a will to emancipate
ourselves are needed from both sides. But to start with, many women have
struggled for ages with these issues without much support. Moreover, as a
man, it seems to me really counter-productive and dangerous to focus on what women should or should not do and what they do well or wrong. We'll never act instead of them and should never wish to do so... So instead of taking the rôle of external judges, let's first take care of what we can do ourselves. As oppressors, it could even be easier for us, in many regards, to break this system, with a little bit of good will.
Freeing ourselves from patriarchal culture means starting with what we
have in terms of redistributing and recreating our old gender habits, but
it also means doing something new: creating new words (because our
language structures our relationship to the world - I've used in this
text, quite paradoxically, a certain amount of typically manly and
warlike language concepts in order to subvert others), inventing new
feelings, new couples or non-couples relationships, inventing qualities
and styles that don't exist yet, spaces and actions that make us live
differently. All the stories, pictures, movies, situations that we have
lived with, especially as kids, have slowly constructed our sensitivity,
our ways of having sex, what we find as beautiful, exciting, what make us
cry or make us stronger. We have all felt how difficult it can be to
combine newly learnt theoretical ideas and analysis with our sensitivity.
Renewed debate and thought, rational will to change our feelings toward
things can help us, little by little, to make sensitivity change.

Nevertheless, it's often difficult, as pictures and fictions constantly
push us back to a standardized sensitivity. Moreover, even if we change
individually or in communities, these pictures and fictions will continue
to shape the desires and frustrations of the generations that will follow
us. Sensitivity needs to be fed on dreams and stories, our theoretical
ideas need a new imaginary world. A struggle aimed at deconstructing
masculinity should therefore spend time building a new subversive culture
(be it through books, music, painting, theatre, movies) which would give
us pictures and feelings of de-gendered society and of the necessary
struggles and tensions to reach it.

Did you ever notice that a pendulum must swing both ways prior to finding it's center?
Male domination was so prevalent for so long, society is finding it's way to counteracting it and finding balance by swinging in the other direction for a time. But don't worry. It won't last as long as the thousands of years males were in charge.. hopefully in our lifetimes we will find balance and be true equals.
I hold no malice towards men in general, I love the men in my life of all generations, and believe the hollywood cliche of a groin injury to be abhorrent. But then I don't understand any situation born of pain to be funny.
It's ok if you hate me for being upset there is no balance, you really aren't hurting anyone but yourself. I respect your opinion, though I am sad for your anger.
Real emotions?
Only when both sides of the equation realize respect is the only answer will we all benefit.

If feminism incredibly needed peace, it would have prevailed via now. in case you relatively need to communicate peace between adult men & women human beings, I say assemble anybody in a huge circle and basically get extreme. No seriosly that is able to be extra desirable than following any political circulate "for peace"

No, feminism is about recognising the inequalities between the sexes. Yes, there is a lot of backlash and even idiots out there, but if you do your research, you'll find that feminism has helped men out just as much as it has helped women. Ever hear of the 'men's movement'? It's basically the good kind of feminism, but men running it instead.

what strikes me as funny (as a female) is people expressing opinions like this. why does the celebration of one group HAVE to automatically mean the put-down of another? are people with opinions like these so insecure, that, like the white supremacists you see on television, they HAVE to show their hatred of someone else? why can i not just be happy that i am female, and be done with it?
as for all of the ridiculous groin shots you see everywhere, i don't think anyone's pain is funny, but i am the minority on that one. look at those Jackass movies and shows. those are MEN kicking and hurting themselves in the groin. and laughing.
