That is a typical way that heterosexuals use to classify a GLBT relationship. Heterosexuals are attempting to make GLBT like us and assume that one must be the guy and the other the woman. In reality, that statement is bigoted and downgrading. People in a same-sex union are just that - people.
Why are we as a people stuck on labels. If a man is more of a caregiver to children does that make him a woman? Certainly not. My husband cooks more than I do and I have very lofty career goals. Does that make him the woman and me the male? NO WAY.
Gay men are not out looking for a male female to be partners with. Gay men are looking for what everyone of us are - a partner that they can love, trust, and admire.
I hope that helps end this stereotype. Good luck to you.

You know, I have this crazy wacky theory about homosexuality. Based on gay people I've met, it seems like gay guys tend to be a little more feminine and lesbians tend to be more masculine. Maybe homosexuality has something to do with the sex hormones (like lesbians having more testoserone and gays having more estrogen). So, generally speaking, I think there is some truth to this statement.

That is something of a myth. Homosexual folks don't "pretend" to be either male or female. They just express themselves as they feel they are, just like straight people. Some straight folks like to be very butch. Other like to be sensitive. Same for all people really.

I've heard that the rate of domestic violence among homosexual couples is quite high.
