being aussie and an aussie supporter i simply cannot believe what is happening to this team....first we lose to england....then we get thrashed by 10 wickets and now cant defend ANOTHER score of 300+ ...this is the 3rd time that we have lost a match scoring 320+...and quite frankly im sick and tired of seeing our bowlers having trouble defending such big totals...we should not be losing matches like this especially to second rate club teams like new zealand...i hear ponting is playing bloody golf while witnessing the demise of the no. 1 ODI ranking....there is no point getting 300+ scores if u cant defend them...shaun tait is shocking...phil jacques cant catch at all....cameron white cant bowl if his life depended on it...and brad hogg cant seem to pitch the damn ball....and mike hussey is the single worst captain in aussie cricket history....after losing this match i felt sick to my stomach...fielding is dreadful for our standard..we need to bring back the wizardry of warne......

mcgrath seems to be so frustrated with the current team that even he is losing his cool and bowling awful balls..and ur telling me that australia cant produce a quality spinner with all the cricket we play..our state sides could destroy most international teams except south africa and any of our state players can get into any other side in the world..i cant believe stuart clark has been left out and playing state cricket..the selectors should be shot dead..this is just gone horribly wrong and it really does hurt when our country loses sports when we are a very pround sports nation having all kinds of world champions in many many different sports..and 2 see our main sport cricket being humuliated the way we are..i certainly dont like it at all what so ever! we should be destroying NZ and england even with our 5th string side let alone our 1st or 2nd! 2 weeks ago we had every trophy in world cricket..and now we lost the CB series..and chappell-hadlee..dont tell me the world cup is next!

Would you like to add anything on? Because we have had another one of those fantastic totals that we couldn't defend. 320? if i remember correctly we didn't defend 420 when we made that total.

I believe Australia went through a similar bad run a few years ago when SA and NZ were out here together. I'm not sure if it's a complacency thing - playing a whole summer against England who didn't put up much of a fight found some confidence towards the end there. Is it a case of fighting your enemy after times, you learn their art of war? England played some excellent cricket in the finals. Australia is happy fighting an easy fight, but without star players like Symonds, Warne, Clarke, Lee, Ponting and Gilchrist etc all out, they are a young side suddenly comparable to England's experience... or worse. I don't know, we've seen them do this every few years, a stutter or something Both England and NZ have many strengths and at the moment Australia needs to gel again as their team is aging and changing and the selectors are making very poor choices. e.g. Watson, Tait, White. All talk no action. Give them time. They will be competitive in the world cup no doubt.

Well you made a point. It is bad feeling when at the end of the day having scored 300+ u r on the losing side. Remember India did something similar silly losing after having the Lankans on the chase. Could be the Aussies want to know how it is to be on the losing side consistently to prepare better for the World cup. Don't worry guy. Temporary phase after all!!!

i repeat my answer Australia is in a patch of low form as of now - ever since Brett Lee and Shane Warne retired, there is a vacuum in your team and it might take some time to replace the players of their charisma - even Glenn McGrath is somewhat off the form though i expect him to pull up before World Cup.

If today's thrashing from NZ is any indication of your inconsistency, you had better do your homework before playing India, south Africa or Pakistan.

All the best and good luck with the World Cup - though I don't support your team

It's just a momentary lapse, and to make u feel better many of the key players were missing so it's not that bad as it seems. Aussies are still favourate to win world cup and there is no denying that.A New zealand are not a second rated team....................(wake up).

I fully agree with your point except bringing back Warne. He cannot do magic. What is required is to shed the complacancy and starting thinking of new strategies and team combination for the world cup.

They are losing because Ponting Gilchrist and Symonds were not in the team.
