1- open: Start---Run--- Msconfig--- startup---- and disable all startup items except the antivirus you use.
2- Open The contral panel: Add\remove programs and unistall any software that's un usable.
3- If you have a small VGA card, then use a simple not detailed JPG wallpaper.
4- Open c: Windows: Temp, and delete all the files therein.
5- Open Intenet explorer, go to tools--- internet options--- clear the browser's files, cache, and history.
6- Diable web content on your desktop.
7- Defrag the Hard Drive "C" after you finish the above mentioned steps.

Use Start>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Cleanup & Disk Defragmenter.
Uninstall unused programs.
Increase RAM.

you can also reformate your harddrive, but this will erase everything, so you need an external drive to save all your files and you will need all your program CDs. Also, you can buy a spyware program because those things will slow down your computer a ton. you can get a free one online (adaware).

Defrag you drive. Delete all cookies and temp files. Uninstall any unused programs.
