check with the mum first, but I think you should be ok to visit now.

Well, if it's only headache, it shouldn't be a problem, but if you still have cold, it's better you ask the newborn's mom what she thinks. Or at least... give her a call & let her know you would like to visit her & meet her baby, but since you are sick, you prefer to wait, in order not to infect her baby. She would appreciate it a lot. Or if you still feel like to go, then tell her you just want to make a quick pass-by to bring a present for her baby. It should be fine. But of course you shouldn't get too close to the baby or to the mother. Make sure you just have normal cold, not other kind serious infection!

I would wait if I were you. The worst thing for a baby is to get a cold and be sick. You may feel slightly better, but you want to make sure. I don't take my baby around my friends baby when she has a cold and I ask them to do the same. All of my friends that are parents have an understanding. Try your hardest not to pass colds, illness, just about anything that's contagious.

Since you only have a slight headache, I would say yes you can go visit. But I would suggest not holding or getting too near the baby just to be safe. Then in a few days when you are feeling 100% you can go back and get to hold the little one!

Newborns pick up germs so easily. I'd call the mom and assure her you will be there to see the baby as soon as you are feeling well. Let her know you don't want to make the baby sick. She'll appreciate the thoughtfulness. I'm a mom to 3 and wish some had been as thoughtful for my children.

I would give it a few more days. Tell your friend you're feeling a little under the weather, but that you will be over as soon as you're 100% better. I was always paranoid that my son would get sick from being around people who were sick... then just as I started listening to everyone telling me to "lighten up" and "stop being so paranoid" someone came over with a runny nose and congestion and BAM! a week later my 6 month old has the flu... thanks to that person's oncoming flu being passed onto my child. Please stay away until you're a little better, and remember to wash your hands before holding a newborn!

I wouldn't want anyone who had previously been sick & may still have some of the sickness in their systom around my newborn. A newborn getting sick can be a dangerous thing. Call the Mom & tell her you've been sick & set up a time to see the newborn next week, I'm sure she'll understand & be greatful of this.

there is not any rule of how long you need to attend yet you're making the determination. I relatively think of a month is somewhat loopy. My sister had numerous visitors on the scientific institution and grow to be receiving travellers in her domicile via the time her son grow to be each week old. She purely asked that ill human beings no longer come around and that any one else that needed to touch or carry her son to apply Germ X purely before touching him. She stopped requiring this as quickly as Caiden have been given photos at one million month. little ones are going to be uncovered to germs no count number what. he would be completely superb. and that i do no longer understand what your toddler being born in February has to do with something. human beings have germs no count number what time of the year.

No, and you are very considerate to even think about that. Call your friend and say you have a cold and wouldn't want to consider getting the baby sick. YOu could send flowers to new Mum from the hospital florist...they are pretty cheap.
