I don't know. I personally would have preferred to see it remain in control of things instead of having to share it with the Mexican gangs or others who do not act with the same level of respect and do not have the same sense of honor. But thanks to Gotti's flamboyant lifestyle and the horrendously-long prison sentences the Feds were handing down at the time Sammy had to turn (or so he thought). The Mafia's real big mistake was getting involved in Heroin after people such as Gambino and Bonnanno said not to do it, because without those raps things would have stayed the same.
I know this grocery store here in the town that I live in that is "family" owned. Believe me, you could not get better produce and whenever I have had to use their bathroom you better believe that NOBODY was going to even so much as leave a kleenex on the floor - not a worker, not a customer! No gang would even THINK of graffiti-ing the mirror by slashing it up. The service, needless to say, is the best of any grocery store I've ever been in.
They provide services that people want so the big issue is the American public has been sold a bill of goods that they can or ought to have the right to legislate morality - or worse - that they SHOULD. Shouldn't it be the duty of a person with a gambling problem to stop? Why does the mere association with the past of that industry have to be a mark of a tainted character? Or even more significant, why does the American people have to characterize someone as only good or bad - after all nobody but God is good - the rest of us have a mixture of the two.
Here's to Charley Lucky.

i grow to be relatively shocked via The album. It wasn't a nasty album even nonetheless i'm via some distance a Rick Ross fan. i think of the album grow to be some 4/5. It had some rather good songs on it. At Digga Get greenback: Vibe is going out of corporation so that's not significant who writes for them...they're no longer going to be putting out magazines.... The mafia also helped get Prohibition enacted. And why do they get a bad rap? Cause they kill people, a lot, in the past.

Yea, but HOW did they do these things? You're right, I guess the Mafia was just a bunch of misunderstood thumb breakers.

i don't think they have such a bad rap. look how the sopranos showed how they're just more or less businessmen, and family oriented regular guys, who have problems just like all of us, panic attacks, problems with kids. they just happen to be sociopaths and cold-blooded killers.

Because they're portrayed as money-grubbing, untrustworthy people in the media and because they steal things and kill people
