i thought the same thing until I met a few of them. Arrogant Aussie bastards. But now that I'm in OZ, they are the most friendly, welcoming bastards (everyone is one type of bastard or another here) I've met! They rock! its all confidence! off the field, they're a bunch of softies! And yes, they're still the kings.

You dont have to like them either as individuals or as a team, but you have to respect what they have done in both forms of cricket over the past 10 years. They have dominated both Test and One Day Cricket for almost the past decade now, and they rival the West Indies of the 70s and 80s as the most dominant team ever, yet they have done it with the same feared bowling attacks the the West Indies could produce.
Yes, a lot of the players, and the team come across as arrogant, but thats due to the fact that the players, and team are very good ( and most good players know they are good ), and secondly because as a team, they know that they can ( and probably will ) win every time they step onto the field.
We all like our champion players and teams to have a little humility, but unfortunately that doesnt happen a lot nowadays, and while you may not like them as individuals, you have to admire and respect the rewards of all the hard work and training they put in.

Confidence, yes. Arrogance is for American teams who become world champions without bothering to play against the rest of the world. So why is the Australian team so arrogant?
To paraphrase Michael Parkinson when he was interviewed on The Fat with Tony Squires, the Australian Cricket team are poor winners. You only have to look at the documentaries about the history of cricket to see the spirit in which the opposing teams played and the audiences supported. And how that has changed recently.
My memories of the West Indies n the 70's and 80's were that they were fast and frightening, but never arrogant.
But I think that these losses put Australia in a better position for the World Cup. They now have something to fight for, rather than just turn up to.

Just you are supreme, you need not be arrogant. A team in supreme position should be role model to other teams and not become arrogant to earn respect.

yeah when you're winning you have a RIGHT to be arrogant
at least in Cricket this is accepted
but considering the poor form of Australia in recent matches - I wonder how long they can afford to be arrogant
HOO HAA INDIA - HOO HAA INDIA
