The latest theory I have heard is that your brain processes the scene twice, once unconsciously and once consciously, fractions of a second later, so that it does seem as though you have been there, done that before.

My life is ruled by this phenomenon. I cannot explain it but be sure you and other like us know that something is not right… you talk to a person and you know what he or she is about to say… “but dreams and just and reliving the past” I am at the point when things is becoming scary!
Still I was told by someone that this phenomenon is more about people doing the same thing over and over again so to the mind you think it happened before because it did!

Two possible explanations:
You weren't consciously processing several variables in your surrounding, but your unconscious mind was noting details and was actually processing them.
By the time you brought your attention to these details, you got the sense that you had already done that.
Enough details about the present setting match some past experience, you are reminded of it and it seems as if you've done this before.

Here's what I've read from numerous source. Before you are born you decide what experiences you need to grow and accordingly, get a life review. Only certain significant things pop up (markers). In life these are markers for being on the path to enlightenment and/or destiny.

One more theory says that according to the laws of Quantum Physics it may be possible that what we perceive as present may have happened before, like parallel realities that interact with each other from time to time

It happened to me before, when I went to a house I really felt that I have already visited the said house. I feel I know every corner of it.

they say that if you experience deja vu repeatedly or quite frequently, you have clairvoyant powers. i sometimes see myself in a scene i've seen once before and then some details get lost in my thoughts.
