stayed there twice both times in august, temp was aroung the top 30's low 40's and thats very very hot. But i used to make sure i stayed in the shade ( iburn easily) took very high factor suncream and i survived. It does not cool down at night either its about low 30's high 20's at night in other words its as hot there in the night as the hottest day here.
i stayed in hilton sharm dreams first time 1 day after the bomb at the next door hotel, the people were so happy to see me, they were very frightened that they would lose their livelihoods, egypt is a very poor country.
second time at hyatt regency, both very lovely hotels, but the hyatt had an amazing private reef just off shore. I had never been diving or snorkling before and i am not great fan of sea water. But my daughter who is 23 insisted i go out and i loved it it was truly astonishing.
ok entertainment, there are a few night clubs in narma bay which my daughters and their boyfreinds enjoyed. there are numerous restaurants all round and they are fun to visit and to choose which one your eating at tonight. Old sharm which is a silly name as its only about 30 yearas old also has many shops and restaurants. There is also a great egyptian night club with an incredible floor show mostly frequented by egyptians its huge fun and one of the dancers 'tito' is astonishing. its called fantasia or leila and its fun to visit. but dont eat there. theres also a hard rock cafe. go to the best hotel you can afford only go b and b unless you drink alot in which case go AI. eat out in the differnt restaurants snorkel or scooba dive if you can. a diving course costs about 350 i seem to remember. Ohh and prices are expensive the most expenive in egypt. Main course dinner about 8 or 9 cheaper in old sharm especailly as you get further from the town centre and enjoy it. Take in duty free alcohol its very expnsive there. sorry my spelling atrocious and spell cheker not working dyslexic
any questions please send to me.

its a cheap place to visit, because of its links to terrorism. it is a big target for terrorists, many attacks over the last 5 years. apart from that its great.
