I personally watch both and enjoy both.

24 is still the "grab the edge of your seat until your knuckles hurt" kinda show. I love it because it is one of the rare shows on TV that actually surprises me. Usually, I always see things coming and I can practically put dialogues in the mouth of the actors before they even say anything. With 24, I am like: "what? no way...I really did not see that coming" it is a great feeling to be flabbergasted once in a while (incidentally, I got best answer for saying that earlier).

Unfortunately, I know a lot of people who stopped watching 24 because it is too much of a commitment. Think about it...24 hours, it is a whole day of your life every year...especially when they stupidly start the season with back to back episodes on 2 consecutive nights so they hit you in the face with 4 hours and some people just cannot handle that because they have a life.
I still watch it because I record it and watch it on my own schedule and...I do not have a life, so I have the time.

As for Heroes, My Goodness! That is a great show! It is great because the special effects are great, the actors are great, it is a big ensemble cast like “Lost” so you do not get bored and it has all the pristine beauty of a brand new show. It is also great because you can watch it for free on your computer through nbc.com which I want to formally thank right here and now. Thank you nbc.com for not asking me for $1.99 to watch your great show!

Each time I see a bad show on TV I am like, why did they not ask me for help because the flaws are so obvious. With “Heroes”, it is like if they had asked for my advice, I would have said: you’re doing great, nothing to change here (except Ali Larter who can never closes her mouth).

So is 24 better than Heroes?
24 is like the husband who provides what you want if you commit. Six years for a show is like dog years, multiply by 7 at least, so 24 is a show in his forties…still looking good…

Then come Heroes, a brand new show who’s like the forbidden lover. It is a new experience that could sweep you away if you let it…but will it last?

Why compare 24 (Fox) and Heroes (NBC)? How about Lost (ABC)? Why is Lost out of the question?

I haven't watched Heroes...but Jack Bauer is the best character in television today!

not even close, but then these two shows are different as night and day. 24 has little going for it. heros, on the other hand, is the classic cliffhanger.
