If you feel fine it's likely all is okay but put your fears at rest by calling NHS 24 or your GP then you won't be worrying. It might also be a good idea to speak to your GP if you plan to keep taking regular exercise as he/she will be able to advise you on what kind of exercise is appropriate during pregnancy without putting yourself or your baby at risk.

I'm no doctor, but I think that if you are fit already, exercise would not have done the baby any harm. And, if I did the calculations right, it was about 89 degrees Fahrenheit, so that's hot, but not extremely hot, and since you were well-hydrated and only did a short run, you should not have a problem. If you still are worrying, you should check with your doctor, but it's probably nothing to worry about. I think fetuses can withstand a lot more than we think they can - for example, before I knew I was pregnant (I think maybe between 3 and 6 weeks along), my husband and I went to a loud rock concert and danced for two hours straight - and I am not as fit as you are!, I got caught in that blackout in NYC (2003) and had to walk almost a mile dragging my luggage, and went to a party and got drunk. Boy was I worried when I found out I was pregnant! But everything turned out fine. Good luck and try not to worry too much (although I know how hard that is!).

Put your fears to bed!
It sounds as if you already know that you should avoid getting very hot in your first trimester, so keep trying to avoid it. But if you feel fine, then your baby will be fine. Getting very hot is linked to miscarriage and you would know if you'd had a miscarriage.
As for depriving your baby of oxygen - don't worry about that. The oxygen supply during a run would probably be better than normal if you are fit and used to it.
Good for you for keeping up your exercise. I exercised lots in the first trimester and am having a really good pregnancy!

Hi! Your baby will be fine. Babies in the womb are surprisingly tolerant. If you are used to this kind of physical exercise there is no reason why you should stop and in actuality, you will have an easier delivery when you have been physically active thru your pregnancy. Good luck and keep up the great work!

It sounds like you are ok. You are very fit and made sure you were properly hydrated before the run so things should be ok. But do take it easy!

I think it is best not to let your heartrate get above 140bpm when pregnant. Work around that. It's not safe to get your body temperature up while pregnant so it's not safe for you to do it. Your baby is probably fine but it's always best to take precautions. Take your cardiovascular workout to water if you need to exercise daily. I have always taken to swimming when pregnant as i cannot give up exercise as it provides my mental health.

Yes, put them to bed and slow it down to a brisk walk from now until birth.
