Yes!!!!
It has been a pain in my *** all my adult life.
Congress was not intended by the writers of the Constitution to be a PROFESSION. They were farmers, shop keepers, craftsman etc. who came to Washington on THEIR dime, did the Nation's business and went home.
Several years ago I contacted my Rep. to complain that he had voted for a pay raise. An aide answered the phone. His answer was that the pay raise was necessary as it was expensive maintaining 2 homes. I went off. "I did not TELL him to run, he CHOSE to. "
These people have chosen to be a member of the laziest, do nothing, profession ( one they created for themselves, Hell, the Kennedys would be in the poor house if it weren't for Politics).
I often think about what our forefathers would do or say if they could see their country now. There are times I think that the "call to arms" would sound again.

As the senate is a millionaires club they should get nothing. Congress is not much better so maybe 40K per year. Or perhaps they should pass a new law stating that anyone who makes less than they do pays no income taxes. Talk about a check and balance!

You bet its too much!! They gave themselves a $35.000 dollar increase in pay between 1997 and 2007!!! They did it on a graduated basis nine(9*) separate times between 1997 and 2007!!! So it would not be so obvious!!! They denied eight(8)* + million Poverty Level wage earners an increase in the minimum wage since 1997 while seeing fit to enrich themselves!!! Is this a great Country or what???? They should be tared and feathered and run out of town!!!! It is shamefully immoral!!!!

As a former Marine that was denied a cost of living raise so congress could get an extra ten grand each. I wish to remind everyone that once upon a time it was considered a privilege to serve your neighbors as their representative and paid nothing. now many feel that they are entitled.

Are you concerned that your taxes go to $20 mil salaries for war contractors. I didn't think so. And you wouldn't be concerned if Democrats earned only half that amount.
If our reps were in private business, with the responsibilites and amounts of money they budget, you'd have to go into the millions.
Stop whining
