This old wart is costing the democrats big time. She has done more damage to the democrats in just the short time,she has been speaker, than Kerry did through his whole campaign.
I don't understand the precedent of providing a plane for the speaker of the house, to begin with. Who cares if she sees the need to fly with a whole entourage when the last speaker flew in a small plane, either by himself or with one or two aides.

Try as hard as you want, Speaker Pelosi has nothing to recover from.
The law passed by Republicans after 9-11 stated that the Speaker MUST have a plane that can make the trip from DC to the home district NON-STOP. The smallest plane that could do that was slightly larger than Hastert's to accomodate the extra fuel.
It's ok with Bush, and OK with Hastert.
She NEVER said it had anything to do with her gender. That's a lie you made up.
If you are concerned about fuel consumption, design a better plane.
