If your keyboard is the same as mine then where you see the @ sign is actually " and vice versa. It is a bit disorientating until you get used to it. The @sign will be located where the number 2 is but by pressing the shift key you get @. I actually have a prob with mine it has a pound sign on the three but NONE of the keys on the keyboard produce the pound sign. weird.

Well hope that solved it 4 ya.

The set up might be set to american style keyboard and therefore you might need to press the shift button and number 2 (as thats where the @ is on an american keyboard)

It sounds as if there is a problem beneath the key. I don't know if it is a little button or sensor under there, but that is probably where your problem lies... Wait - does your 2 key work? If it does - scratch that. Are you able to use other secondary keys
like # $ % & ...?

go onto the start menu, then control panel.

double click the 'language and regional settings' icon.

In there assure that all default languages are set (to what i must assume is currently US) to UK

that will get the @ and the £ sign back
