Whoa! Falsifying a diploma will only get you fired, if caught. Falsifying a green-card is a whole different matter - this is a crime. If your employer were to discover that you have a false diploma, they may also call into question your green-card - and involve the authorities.
First, the best that could happen to you, if caught: You will lose your job, any assets you have will default to the US Government and you will be deported to your country of origin, at your expense, you will not pass go or collect $200 and you will never be allowed back in the US.
The worst that could happen to you, if caught: You will lose your job, any assets you have will default to the US Government and you will go to jail, upon your release, you will be deported to your country of origin, in the cheapest way possible, you will not pass go or collect $200 and you will never be allowed back in the US.
Either way, you DO face deportation, it just depends on how the IS view the seriousness of your particular case

I would say deportation, revocation of your green card. I am not so much concerned with a falsified diploma other than it speaks volumes about your personal character, morals and scruples, forget about how competent you are if you have no morals, it means nothing. The green card issue is clear, if it is falsified, you have lied in order to get get it or have altered it to display some other form of inaccurate or plain wrong information, or just another way of saying, you lied. I think that if discovered, your card and status will be revoked, and you will be asked to leave.

A falsified green card will get you deported. It doesn't matter how competent you are, you are here illegally, with false documentation. Some people in authority could see you as a threat to security whether you are or not. Fix it.

If you get caught with a forged diploma, you simply will be fired from a job; and nothing else will happen to you. All licenses obtained by the means of forged diploma will be revoked. In US, having a degree (diploma) is often not enough to get a professional employment; doctors, lawyers, accountants, etc, must also be licensed by a state in order to practice their profession.
If you get caught with a forged green card, you will be sent to a federal prison where you will wait extradition to your country. The waiting might take a couple of months. Once sent back, they will ban you from re-entry to US forever.
