Go to your controll panal & click printer, then right click it and then make sure it is set to DEFAULT PRINTER also. Try this first and see if it will help. If not do what the others have said.

Try to reinstall the drivers for HP printer . First Uninstall them , restart and then install them again . If the same problem exist, search if there are newer drivers for HP printer . Try with them .
If the same happenes , check in Control Panel / System / Hardware / Device Manager / if everything seems to be ok . Reinstall your operating system and install the drivers to your HP printer again .
