When President Bush first announced the 'troop surge', nationwide polls indicated a 26% support of that plan . Today, only weeks later, it's at 35% . An increase of almost 10% in only weeks . Now the military is releasing their initial assessments of the beginning phases of the surge . Result ? An immediate decrease in killings !!!
When the surge is complete, in May, and thereafter, I think we'll see many more people supporting it , and the President !!!

Well, the fact that the liberal leftist extremists believe them should tell you that the numbers are a total fabrication.

I find it quite interesting that neither I nor anyone that I know has even once been asked our opinion, yet the communist news network (CNN) always seems to know what I think.

Since the media is controlled by the liberal anti-American extremists, it should also be obvious where their numbers are coming from.

If I walk into a vegetarian restaurant, and take a poll on hunting and meat consumption, what kind of results would I get?

Anyone who cannot see past the bogus numbers in the "polls" is clearly incapable of independent thought.

I think it depends a lot more on how the questions are asked. A poll might say a question like this:

What shoud we do about the Iraq war?

A. Complete pull out - 20% voted this result
B. Brainstorm several strategies, and then make a decision - 30%
C. Increase troop levels - 30% voted this result
D. Not sure - 20%

and the result is that liberals will say that only 30% support Bush's plan, therefore the other 70% oppose his plan, so we should pull out all troops.

Meanwhile, this is not the case reading the actual poll, where only 20% want us to pull out all troops.

Polling is so accurate that the Bushies hired a major polling firm to verify the Ukranian elections. When the vote and poll didn't match, the US demanded a new election.

I guess the polling firm used a lot of Liberally biased questions, right?

Bush's numbers are rising because the media is sucking up, and slanting the news towards his favor.

I DONT BELIEVE POLLS BECAUSE THEY USUALLY ONLY ASK ANYWHERE FROM 100-1000 PEOPLE, AND WHO IS TO SAY THAT THEY DONT GO TO A AREA THAT DEMOGRAPHICALLY LEANS THE SAME WAY THE POLLSTER DOES TO ACHEIVE THE DESIRED RESULT.
LIKE ONE OF THE OTHER ANSWERS, I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN OR SEEN ONE OF THESE POLLS TAKEN, THOUGH I KNOW THAT YOU CAN DO SOME ONLINE BUT I BELIEVE THOSE WILL REPRESENT WHAT THE MAIN USERS OF THAT PARTICULAR SITE IS GEARED TOWARD: EX: MSNBC IS LIBERAL BIASED SO MOST OF THEIR VIEWERS ARE LIBERALS,SAME FOR CNN ,ABC,CBS!! HOWEVER I KNOW THAT FOX NEWS IS THE MOST WATCHED NEWS , SO I AM LED TO BELIEVE THAT MOST POLLS TAKEN BY THE MAIN STREAM ARE BIASED FOR THESE REASONS ABOVE!

Polls are accurate if performed by a credible firm using solid statistial technique. They are the best way an organization can determine what the public has to say about an issue or candidate or sitting politician.
