Richard Lion Heart was the one of conquerors of crusaders. at that time jerusalam was considered a holy place for both christinailty and Muslims. at lionheart's period, jersusalam was under Muslim's control.
just one day, one of the high priest said "i want jerusulam back from these infidels, i know that place is holy so let's wage a holy war for a holy place..... (true meaning= let's get some more land) so let's combine forces and attack jeruslam...
(political stuff)...... anyway you might be surprised but lionheart actually gave his title of lionheart to his worse enemies "Salahudin"... the battle between saludin and lionheart, their respect for each other is legendary....
although both sides were fighting like idiots for a piece of "holy land". Richard and Salahuddin respected each other. that's was the omly thing i liked about this war..
my advice is don't take one side about muslims and christinaity bcoz that is just the murder of history......

Richard I (8 September 1157 – 6 April 1199) was King of England from 1189 to 1199. In his own time, the troubadour Bertran de Born called him Òc-e-Non ('Yes-and-No'), while some later writers referred to him as Richard the Lionheart, or Cœur de Lion, as he is still known in France. Richard is unique in history in that he spent more years of his reign away from his kingdom, than inside its borders. Frequent campaigning and a period of detainment by Leopold V of Austria ensured that he would rarely see his home.
