With pen and paper, title 1 piece of paper "autumn", the other "winter". Then free-associate; jot down word or two that you think of when you hear the word 'autumn'. Such as: falling leaves, brisk days, etc. Winter brings to mind snow days, cold weather, grey skies, etc.
Pick the one you like the most and expound on each of the ideas you have written down. Describe a memory of one or two. You will have your essay.

I am in the spring of my life
my parents are in the summer of their life
my grand parents are in the autumn of their liffe
when we reach the winter of our lives we live our lives in quiet desperation.
autumn is the prelude of a cold winter.
God's way of ending a beautiful summer with a burst of color..like a fireworks for the grand finale!
