Absolutely.... We all live our lives on a spectrum. There are happy times, there are sad times, and there are all the other times that lie between. The important thing is to try to learn something from every moment you experience. Treasure the good times, remember the bad times, learn from your mistakes and never let yourself live with regrets. The rest should fall into line.
Most importantly, remember that life is short and we won't always get another chance at the things we think we have time for. Treat your life like it will end tomorrow.

I look at it this way to know real happiness you have to experience some sadness, to know sadness is to grow and appreciate loss or cause and effect of perhaps your actions. So life can be a balance of both. To merely be alive and breathing and looking at the wonders of the everyday life, our loved ones, nature, our small creatures of this earth. If you try to spread alittle happiness to each and everyone everyday your happiness grows and grows till he overcomes you and you burst with joy. So to each and every life as they say alittle rain must fall but then the sun comes out again. :-)
