Yes, the next election will result in a hung parliament. For Labour to lose their overall majority of 48 (based on the new boundaries) there would have to be a swing of 1.6% to the Conservatives but for the Conservatives to GAIN an overall majority themselves they would need to clock up a 6.9% swing. Excluding the 1997 General Election, the largest swing at a general election was in 1979 when the Conservatives recorded a 5.3% swing.

i won't envisage the Liberal Democrats doping ok on the subsequent election. The Lib Dems have been very close to to labour in terms of rules yet very diverse from the Conservatives, so maximum Lib Dem electorate possibly needed a Liberal-Labour coalition no longer a Liberal-Conservative Coalition. i think of the Lib Dems will lose a large type of help on the subsequent election and would possibly no longer have adequate seats to push any single social gathering previous the 326 Seats mark. i'm additionally unwell of folk asserting this government replaced into voted for via over 0.5 the individuals. this government replaced into no longer voted for via all people. 23% of folk voted for a Liberal Democrat government, and 36% of folk voted for a Conservative government. No-one voted for a liberal-Conservative Coalition, and that i quite doubt that many Liberal Democrat electorate would be extremely joyful it has befell. Many Lib Dem electorate might have labour as a 2nd determination and could heavily dislike the government.

Has there ever been a hung Parliament in the UK's history? With the number of MPs I think that the chances are very very small.
