hi please can you help

my mixer tap in kitchen,well the mesh from inside the head unit fell out,so now the water sprays out eraticlly,there is a blue plastic insert still in the tap,
i have noticed the actual long head comes off,do you know,if i can just replace this part,rather than replacing the whole mixer taps and unit etc,as the unit isnt very old.
any ideas if and where to purchase

You need an aerator, the best of which is made by Neoperl. A plumbers merchant should be able to help.

There should be a threaded piece of brooker rod up in between the two pipes going to the tap, above that is a locking plate clamp. Pull the pipes aside and see if it's hidden behind them. The pipes can be either copper or flexible fittings. Have a good day.

Normally when you need to repair something like this you find that it's quite hard to find a replacement for it, The part that you need is only very small and as such, it's not the sort of item that places normally stock. Good luck, i think you will need to do a bit of rummaging around.

The mesh that fell out is an anti splash device. You should be able to push it back into position. If not, you can get one from a plumbers merchant.

go to B and Q they will tell you, or borrow your neighbours husband for 10 minutes!
