Yes I know for a fact that they can be given gripe water at this age because when My son was two weeks old i had contacted my doctor about it and asked him if it was OK. He said yes for sure no doubt about it, follow the directions though for a newborn it is 1/2 tsp. So i would say go for it but if you are still unsure contact your doctor first.

Gripe Water is fine to give an infant, of any age, with colic or upset tummy. Just be sure to follow dosage on the bottle. Good luck with the new baby.

definite this is undesirable. Breastmilk or formulation are the sole issues that toddler desires. Water at his age can heavily harm him, on the only hand, water will fill his tummy up so as that he's purely too finished to consume milk, because water has no energy, you're truly starving him once you provide him water. the greater severe concern is that water can substitute his electrolytes and reason recommendations harm, blood thinning and different _VERY SERIOUS_ scientific issues. provide up giving him water and nurse or bottle him greater. ETA: do no longer provide peppermint to a toddler! Peppermint oil is risky if given directly to babies, even interior teas.

Best not to give anything prior to 4-6 weeks old. Sometimes newborn babies just scream & cry & cannot be settled. Wrap your baby tightly & rock them until they stop (& they will). If you have any concerns then you really should get a medical opinion before you give anything (even boiled water) to a baby under 4-6 weeks. Tell us what's happening & perhaps you can get some good ideas & advice.
