what is the electronic configuration of an atom of a magnet?

we have considered that earths magnetic field flows from north to south, so if we go on the point where the flow begins & hold a magnetic compass(needle) , horizontally, what will hapen?

Do you mean "what will my compass do at the magnetic North Pole"? If so and you hold it horizonantally, it will just point any direction it feels like. It would actually like to point down, if you tip the compass.
