To eifionrefail - This question was asked on Saturday night after too much beer but I am now concerned. Why can it be fatal for sheep if they lie in their backs?

They sleep in their little sheep beds in the barn, and use their teeth to pull the covers up over their shoulders.
They are required to make their beds each morning.
